Therefore, a Christian disciple is a person who accepts and takes great joy in helping to spread the gospel (good news) of Jesus Christ. It is also the process by which believers grow in the Lord Jesus Christ and are equipped by the Holy Spirit, who resides in our hearts, to overcome the pressures and trials of this present life and become more and more Christlike.
Overall, this process requires believers to respond to the unction of the Holy Spirit and to examine our thoughts, words and deeds and compare them with what is written in the Word of God. This requires that we be in the Word daily—studying it, praying over it, and obeying it, so that we can give an answer to those outside of God’s ark of safety, that ask us what reason of hope we have in this life. Christian growth should be in the following areas: Putting Jesus first in all things (Mark 8:34‐38); Following Jesus’ teachings (John 8:31‐32); and, Fruitfulness (John 15:5‐8).
